New Companions

Update 44 brings two exciting new Companions for you to recruit and join you on your adventures: Tanlorin and Zerith-var. Tanlorin, an outcast High Elf, is the first Companion to combine Dragonknight and Soul Magic abilities, making him a unique addition. Zerith-var, a Khajiit Necromancer from a distant past, offers a different playstyle and story.

Each Companion has their own set of passive abilities to unlock, as well as personal questlines and rich backstories, giving you a deeper connection to these new allies.

To unlock these Companions, visit the Companions section in the Crown Store in-game. Both are available for free to ESO Plus members or can be purchased with crowns if you don't have an active membership. Once unlocked, you can find Tanlorin just outside Vulkhel Guard in Auridon, and Zerith-var near Moonmont in Reaper's March.

New Grimoire, Scripts, Skill Styles, and More

The Scribing System, introduced in Update 42 with the Gold Road Chapter, continues to expand in Update 44. This update introduces the new Banner Bearer Grimoire, a part of the Support Skill Line. The Banner Bearer allows you to equip a banner on your back, enhancing your group's abilities based on your chosen Focus.

In addition, 14 existing scripts are now compatible with nine original Grimoires, and four new Skill Styles have been added to help you stand out in battle. Some examples include a molten version of the Puncture ability and a wildburn variant for Force Shock.

You can obtain the new Banner Bearer Grimoire from Chronicler Firandil in the Scholarium. For a full list of all new Scribing content, check the patch notes. Remember, you'll need access to the Gold Road Chapter to begin your Scribing journey.

Golden Pursuits

A brand-new way to earn in-game collectibles, items, and currencies, Golden Pursuits is a reward system introduced with Update 44. Players will need to complete various tasks while adventuring across Tamriel, earning rewards as they hit specific milestones.

The first Golden Pursuits campaign will kick off in mid-November, so stay tuned for the official announcement and get ready to collect new rewards as you explore.

Imperial City Changes

For those who love PvP and fighting Daedra in the heart of the empire, the Imperial City has undergone some significant changes. Key improvements include an overhaul of the Imperial Vaults. Imperial City keys and key fragments have been replaced by Imperial Fragments, and vault treasure chests are now vendors.

Additionally, many existing vendors in the Imperial City have received upgrades to their wares, with higher-quality items and new selections. With Update 44, looting the capital city has never been more rewarding.

Additional Features & Improvements

Alongside the exciting new content, Update 44 also includes several quality-of-life improvements that all ESO players will appreciate, including:

Increased furnishing base materials in regular harvest nodes

HDR support for PC players, along with new visual settings like HDR scene brightness and contrast

Quest pips for Master Writs, including quest markers and objective tracking

ESO Plus members now receive bonus PvP perks:

A 10% boost to Alliance Points earned (currency), PvP Skill Line ranks, and Alliance rank (not for leaderboards or Rewards of the Worthy grant rate)

A 10% boost to Tel Var Stones earned from killing monsters
