Expands Its World with the Mega Dimension DLC,and a Worldwide Vivillon Community Event

Posted: Nov 02,2026 Source: MMOWOW

Nearly a year after its global launch on October 16, 2025, Pokémon Legends: Z-A remains one of the most talked-about entries in the long-running franchise. Released for both the Nintendo Switch and the newly launched Nintendo Switch 2, the game reimagined the beloved Kalasian capital of Lumiose City as a compact but bustling open urban playground. Building on that foundation, The Pokémon Company has now delivered a substantial wave of new content, headlined by the paid Mega Dimension expansion, a complete physical bundle, and a lively real-world community event that is currently live for all trainers.

The Mega Dimension DLC Opens a Portal to Hyperspace Lumiose with Mythical Pokémon Hoopa

The biggest piece of news is the paid expansion, officially titled the Mega Dimension DLC (known in Japan as Chō Jigen Baku-Wany). First detailed in a trailer shown in November and December 2025, the additional story content went live on December 10, 2025, and picks up right after players finish the main campaign.

Strange wormholes suddenly tear open across Lumiose City, and the player crosses paths with a mysterious young girl named Ansha and the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa. Together, they leap deep into one of these portals and emerge in a bizarre parallel realm called Hyperspace Lumiose. This distorted mirror of the city is home to Pokémon with completely different ecologies, and the encounters are brutally tough—some wild Pokémon exceed the normal level cap of Lv. 100, demanding carefully trained teams and smart use of the new real-time battle system.

Alongside the story expansion, the DLC also introduced a brand-new twist on the franchise's beloved Mega Evolution mechanic. While classic Mega Lucario appears in the base game, the reveal trailer showcased Mega Lucario Z, a never-before-seen "Z Mega Evolution" form that adds fresh strategic possibilities to competitive battles.

The Complete Physical Bundle Arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 with a Special 100-Premier Ball Bonus

For players who have yet to jump into Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the package just became a whole lot simpler. On October 29, 2026, The Pokémon Company released a new physical edition titled Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension. As the name suggests, the game card includes both the enhanced Nintendo Switch 2 version of the base game and the Mega Dimension DLC on a single cartridge, so buyers do not need to purchase the expansion separately.

Anyone who picks up the physical bundle also receives a serial code for 100 Premier Balls as a launch bonus, a generous helping of one of the game's most useful standard capture items. Owners who already own the digital or physical Switch 2 Edition can still buy the Mega Dimension DLC separately from the eShop, and note that the cartridge remains playable on the original Nintendo Switch—though on that older hardware it runs as the standard edition without the Switch 2-exclusive enhancements.

Claim a Free Mystery Gift Spewpa Before November 19 and Evolve It into One of 16 Vivillon Patterns

To celebrate the bundle's launch, The Pokémon Company is also running an attractive free distribution. Beginning October 29, 2026, trainers can claim a special Spewpa—the Scatterdust Pokémon—through the in-game Mystery Gift menu simply by selecting "Get via Internet." The offer runs until November 19, 2026 (at 01:59 UTC).

What makes this Spewpa special is how it evolves. Once it reaches level 12, it grows into Vivillon, the Scale Pokémon, whose wing patterns normally depend on the real-world region a player lives in. This gifted Spewpa, however, will randomly evolve into one of all 16 known Vivillon patterns, making it a fun surprise for collectors and completionists alike. Redeeming it is straightforward: open the main menu, choose Link Play, select Mystery Gift, and connect to the internet. Only one Spewpa can be received per save file, and the Mystery Gift function unlocks roughly one hour into the adventure.

Team Up with Players Worldwide in the Vivillon Challenge to Earn a Rare Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon

The Spewpa giveaway ties directly into a brand-new community-wide campaign called the Vivillon Challenge!, which kicked off the same day. On a dedicated event website, players across the globe collectively rack up "Vivillon points" every time they evolve a Spewpa—whether that Spewpa came from the Mystery Gift, was caught in the wild, or earned through side quests.

The community goal is ambitious: if trainers worldwide together accumulate 660,000 Vivillon points, every participant will be rewarded with a special Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon. This rare wing pattern is normally extremely difficult to obtain, making the shared effort well worth it.

There is plenty more going on around the event. The Z-A Battle Club is hosting special Season 19 ranked battles with restricted rules that limit teams to the starter Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile alongside Pokémon found in the first Wild Zone—and Vivillon itself is eligible to compete. On top of that, a cross-game promotion rewards players who deposit a Vivillon from Pokémon Legends: Z-A into Pokémon HOME with a Garden Pattern Vivillon trainer portrait, six Training Vouchers, and 666 VP in Pokémon Champions, while a Mega Evolution-only online tournament is scheduled for mid-November.

Between the story-rich Mega Dimension expansion, the convenient complete bundle, the free Spewpa distribution, and the worldwide Vivillon Challenge, there has never been a better time to dive back into the redeveloped streets of Lumiose City.asia-press.portal-pokemon.comPokemonPokémon Legends: Z-A
