Source: MMOWOWMicrosoft has hailed the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as a massive success, claiming it has set several records for the franchise.
The latest installment in the Call of Duty series launched on October 25, available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC. Notably, it is also the first Call of Duty title to be included in Game Pass from day one.
During Microsoft's Q1 earnings call, CEO Satya Nadella discussed the game's early success.
"Last week's launch of Black Ops 6 was the largest in Call of Duty history, breaking records for first-day player growth and new Game Pass subscriptions," Nadella stated.
"Single-player sales across PlayStation and Steam have also increased by more than 60% year-over-year. This reflects our strategy of meeting player demand and offering more games for them to enjoy on the platforms they prefer."
Earlier today, Activision Blizzard revealed that Xbox revenue for Microsoft had surged by 43% in the first quarter.
Activision also announced on Tuesday that Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 1 will launch on November 14.
The publisher said it will offer "plenty of free content," including new multiplayer modes, a Zombies mode, and an updated Warzone map.
The first content pack for Black Ops 6 was released on Tuesday, introducing the new "Infected" multiplayer mode, while the iconic Nuketown map will be added to the game on Friday.
