Pokemon Champions is offering players a chance to obtain free Mega Stones for select Pokemon by transferring them from Pokemon Legends: Z-A. With Mega Evolution playing a major role in the upcoming title, this early bonus could give players a strong head start by unlocking Mega Evolutions for several fan-favorite Pokemon.
Pokemon Champions Release Details
Nintendo has officially confirmed that Pokemon Champions will launch on Nintendo Switch on April 7, 2026, with iOS and Android versions arriving later. The game will be free-to-start and heavily focused on battles, featuring an arena-style format.
Players can take part in ranked, casual, and private matches, with both single and double battle options available. Teams will consist of six Pokemon, and cross-platform play will be supported once the mobile version is released.
Free Mega Stones for Transferred Pokemon
To celebrate the launch, players can earn free Mega Stones by transferring specific Pokemon from Pokemon Legends: Z-A through Pokemon HOME into Pokemon Champions. The eligible Pokemon include:
- Chesnaught
- Delphox
- Greninja
- Eternal Flower Floette
By sending over the fully evolved Kalos starters, players can unlock the Mega Stones needed to Mega Evolve these Pokemon in Pokemon Champions. Eternal Flower Floette is also included as a special case.
How to Obtain Eternal Flower Floette

Eternal Flower Floette is a unique Pokemon introduced in Pokemon Legends: Z-A and can only be obtained once per playthrough. Unlocking it requires significant progress:
- Complete the main story
- Earn at least 50,000 Combat Points in the Infinite Z-A Royale
- Obtain a Challenger’s Ticket
- Win 15 Reward Matches against top trainers
This makes it one of the rarer Pokemon eligible for the Mega Stone promotion.
Pokemon HOME and Team Building in Champions
Pokemon Champions will integrate with Pokemon HOME, allowing players to transfer Pokemon from other titles like Legends: Z-A and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
However, using Pokemon HOME is optional. Players without access can recruit Pokemon temporarily for one week at a time. By spending Victory Points, they can extend recruitment or permanently add these Pokemon to their roster.
Transferring Pokemon offers additional advantages, including extended training options such as adjusting stats and abilities—though these changes will only apply within Pokemon Champions.
New Mega Evolution Abilities
Mega Evolution isn’t just returning—it’s getting an upgrade. Some Mega-Evolved Pokemon in Pokemon Champions will have exclusive abilities not seen in other games.
Examples shown so far include:
- Mega Feraligatr – Dragonize: Converts all Normal-type moves into Dragon-type moves
- Mega Meganium – Mega Sol: Creates harsh sunlight conditions, allowing moves like Solar Beam to activate instantly
While a full list of abilities hasn’t been revealed yet, these previews suggest that Mega Evolution will play a bigger and more strategic role than ever before.
